Stéphane Humbert Lucas

Founded 2013 · France · Stéphane Humbert Lucas

Stéphane Humbert Lucas was the perfumer behind the house SoOud and behind much of the Gulf's luxury perfumery before signing in his own name in 2013. His 777 series makes oriental perfumery of very high concentration on a French structure.

History

Humbert Lucas trained in Grasse and spent years composing to commission for Gulf houses, where he learned to handle oud, saffron and resins without the usual restraint of the French school. In 2013 he launched his own house with the 777 collection, whose name alludes to the number of perfection in several traditions. The concentrations are extreme and the bottles are skulls and sculptural forms. Black Gemstone and Khôl de Bahreïn are the best known.

Iconic models

  • Black Gemstone

Petrol, frankincense and saffron. Dark and mineral, among the most singular in niche.

  • Khôl de Bahreïn

Fruity with oud; the best seller of the 777 collection.

  • Oud 777

Pure oud treated in the French manner, the house's most traditional card.

Worth knowing

Before signing in his own name he spent years composing for Gulf houses without appearing on the label. The 777 collection is what he makes when nobody sets him limits.
