Ramon Monegal
Founded 2011 · Barcelona, Spain · Ramon Monegal
Ramon Monegal is the fourth generation of a family that founded Myrurgia, the great Spanish perfumery of the twentieth century. After the family company was sold he set up his own house in Barcelona, with inkwell-shaped bottles and a small, very personal catalogue.
History
The Monegal family founded Myrurgia in Barcelona in 1916, the house of Maja and of classical Spanish perfumery. Ramon, trained in Grasse and in Paris, was its perfumer and creative director until the group was sold to Puig. In 2011 he opened his own house, with a catalogue he composes entirely himself — uncommon — and with the inkwell bottle as his signature, in homage to writing. His perfumery is Mediterranean and restrained, far from the excess of fashionable niche.
Iconic models

Worth knowing
His family founded Myrurgia in 1916, the house that made Maja and defined Spanish perfumery in the twentieth century. When it was sold, he started again from nothing under his own name.
