History
The Spinnaker name comes from a sports watch brand of the seventies, and Dartmouth Brands revived it for its diving line. The British house also owns AVI-8, Ballast and Earnshaw, all built through Solar Time Ltd., a Hong Kong watchmaker founded in 1977. Its proposition is explicit and honest: classic diver silhouettes — Croft, Bradner, Fleuss — with Japanese automatic movements at a price nowhere near the originals they evoke.
