Pagani Design

Founded c. 2016 · China

Pagani Design is the best-known homage house on the market: it reproduces famous silhouettes — the steel diver, the racing chronograph, the pilot's watch — with Japanese movements and for tens of dollars. It does not hide it, and that is both its appeal and its limit.

History

The brand grew with e-commerce and a proposition it never disguises: take recognisable designs and offer them with Seiko NH35 or Miyota movements, a steel case and sapphire crystal in the top series, at a price no established house can touch. Its catalogue turns over constantly and its documentation is all but non-existent — no public founder, no official date. It is worth knowing what you are buying: a functional, well-assembled watch for the money, not a piece with a design of its own.

Iconic models

  • PD-1701

Its take on the classic racing chronograph.

  • PD-1671

A steel diver with an integrated bracelet; the house's best seller.

Worth knowing

None of its designs is its own, and the house has never claimed otherwise. What its buyers get is Japanese mechanics and decent finishing for very little money.
